Molybdenum is a chemical element with symbol Mo , Atomic number 42 and Atomic mass 94.95 forms hard in metallic (white-silver) colors.
The Molybdenite concentrate or sulfur is acquired with industrial processings as MolybdenumTrioxide MoO3 .
Molybdenum is factor of hardness and strength and it increases temperature and properties resistance of the alloys.
This element in the most commercial compound is supplied asMolybdenumOxide(MoO2 ) and FerroMolybdenum(FeMo60).
A large portion of the global Molybdenum mines reserves are in china, USA, Armenia, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan and chile

About 90% of Molybdenum produced is used to make alloys particulary steel alloys to increase strength and hardness. These ‘moly steel’ alloys are used in the industries related to the high speeds, stainless, special alloys, aerial industries, spacecraft, in sections of the missile and casting.
Most Molybdenum is used in steel alloys, cast iron and superalloys to increase strength, hardness, electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion.
In high temperature sources, Molybdenum is competed with the iron superalloys, nickel, cobalt and Other refractory metals (Tungsten, Tantalum and Niobium).
Superalloys can be used in temperatures up to 1200 ° C.

Molybdenum finds use as a catalyst in the petroleum industry, especially in catalysts for removing organic sulfurs from petroleum products.

Molybdenum is resistant to corrosion by most glasses, therefore as the electrode material is used for glass melting furnaces.
Molybdenum is used in some electronic applications, as the conductive for metal layers in thin-film transistors.
Molybdenum applied in the lamp industry in the past while this element have a wide usages nowdays, and its importance is growing day by day. Molybdenum bands are used in electrical processes. High thermic resistance and low thermal expansion coefficient of molybdenum is very important in this type of application.
Chemical applications
Molybdenum ranges are pigments ranging from red-yellow to a bright red orange and used in paints, inks, plastics, and rubber compounds. Molybdenum disulfide is a good lubricant, especially at high temperatures.
